ACLOC is an organization that brings together the best practices in organizing from both labor unions and community groups. Founded in 2005, ACLOC carries on ACORN’s long history of partnering with organized labor to build greater power for low and moderate-income people in the neighborhoods and on the job. ACLOC helps bridge ACORN's national network of community organizations with Labor Unions to engage in strategic campaigns that advance the agenda of ACORN members and our partnering union members. ACLOC helps advance a progressive agenda of working people by offering supporting organizations the following types of support:
- ACLOC labor organizing- An experienced group of labor and community organizers who are available to provide extra capacity in hard-fought campaigns.
- ACLOC community organizing-An experienced group of community organizers who provide extra capacity in public and corporate campaigns.
- Community support for workers- ACLOC will coordinate with ACORN members locally or nationally to support campaigns for workers' rights.
- ACLOC Apprentice Program- Administrative service for Unions to run their program for organizers in training, community canvassers, comparable to the former Organizing Institute of the AFL-CIO
- ACLOC Academy- Training programs for Community Organizers, Labor Organizers, Union members and community members.
